The petition supporters that are against the inhumane slaughter of the Catalina Island mule deer have collectively reached over 129,000 signatures, with this figure steadily increasing each day. The growing support is a clear reflection of the deeply concerning nature of this situation.

The professional marksmen coming to our Island for the sole purpose of eradicating an entire species that has been here for over a century is disturbing. The Catalina Island Conservancy’s actions are based on inconclusive science.

It underscores the urgent need for a comprehensive reevaluation of the approach being taken, with a focus on seeking solutions that prioritize compassion, ethical considerations, and the voice of our community here on the island.
